Can You See the Big Picture?

The medical problems that we face today will probably amaze scientists of the future as they wonder why we, as a medical community, are not able to grasp the obvious:

Why is it that surgeons can perform open-heart surgery successfully, yet nutritionally, we are oblivious to the reality of how a person gets to the point of needing open heart surgery?

So much time is spent developing complex surgical procedures to prolong the life of a person whose body continues to be diseased after the procedure. Why not see the obvious, the big picture?  Remember the saying, “You are what you eat?”

It’s so true.

People do not get “heart burn,” asthma, fatigue, constipation, and many other symptoms because they are deficient in medication. These problems occur because something went wrong in the body. Poor food, chemicals, and drugs can change the enzymes in the body. Then, they go on to change the chemistry and hormones until finally you get a physiologic change and you have symptoms. Add medication to control the symptoms, and your health issue is left to manifest in another way, causing more malfunction.

We have become a nation of fast medicine for every ailment. This is a good approach if you break your leg or are having a heart attack. For chronic health problems, it is a poor choice. Royal Lee — the founder of Standard Process and a great scientist and inventor — once said,

“One of the biggest tragedies of human civilization is the precedence of chemical therapy over natural, of poison over food, in which we are feeding people poisons, trying to correct the reactions of starvation.”

Almost any health problem can be traced back to nutritional deficiency and chemical overload. All whole food nutrients have a purpose. Every function in your body needs specific nutrients to make it work. Poor food choices over time create weaknesses in organs, glands, bones, brain, and the immune system. These food challenges can change your genes. Then you pass them on to your children. Unfortunately, kids are having health problems even earlier these days.

So, these chronic headaches, joint pain, bloating, fatigue, asthma, allergies, constipation, insomnia, etc., didn’t happen overnight. They developed as your physiology deteriorated. They are symptoms. Symptoms are an after-effect of body malfunction. Your body is talking to you. It’s saying, “I need help. Feed me better. Help me heal.”

Healing doesn’t come from a drug.
